The Quest

The gulf between the animate and the inanimate is deep and assumed to be unbridgeable. It seems obvious that no amount of effort, no magic potion known to humankind, will make a stone behave like a living creature. But, what if there is a way to make the inanimate live? A way to imbue metals with the ability to live and grow. What new forms of life would be generated? What fantastical forms would they have? This is the quest that unites us, a motley band of seekers of new worlds. We each have, in our own ways, explored the arcane and esoteric with open minds. From the very origins of alchemy, through the pervasive presence of the Kabbalah, to modern-day scientific discoveries and understanding, our combined knowledge, experience, intuition, aesthetic sensibility and artistic vision has brought us tantalisingly close to unlocking the secrets of how to make metals live. It's now a matter of when, not if.
